We celebrate independence
When we’re clearly dependent
In a land blessed with milk and honey
But ruled by leaders so cunny
Arise! Oh compatriots
The Patriots’ never stop calling
Why hath thou crawling?
Oh Africa’s giant
What then is our gain
If the labor of our heroes past be in vain?
Peace, justice, and unity has no stay
And people are going astray
As a nation, we need to trace
Our problems with all concentration
Giving all it takes, shunning distraction
And with determination to set the pace
Let us come together as a nation
And solve our problems with determination
Take time to reprioritize our agendas
Regardless of the tribe or gender
